CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - A bullet was found inside the secured area at Buffalo Niagara International Airport Friday morning. According to NFTA spokesman Douglas Hartmayer, the bullet belonged to an NFTA police officer.
Hartmayer says a gun magazine fell off of the officer's belt as she was making her rounds near Gate 14 at the airport at around 2:40 a.m. Friday morning. The officer retrieved the magazine, but shortly thereafter an NFTA management representative found a bullet on the floor that had fallen from the magazine.
The NFTA police took possession of the round.
