BUFFALO, NY - An 11-year-old Boy Scout from Troop 616 in West Seneca is the recipient of a very prestigious award.
Christopher LaRussa has been chosen to receive the national meritorious award from the Boy Scout National Council. Chris won the award because he reached out to state lawmakers with an idea that changed the cyber bullying law in New York. Bullying is something Christopher knows about first hand, "I got bullied when I was in the third grade, this kid wouldn't stop... So one day my parents role played with me and now he and I are really good friends now."
This past June Governor Cuomo approved and passed the amended cyber bullying law using Christopher's idea that includes texting, Facebook and all electronic bullying. Congratulations Christopher!
