HAWLEY, Pa. (AP) - Police in northeastern Pennsylvania say a man who had just broken into a home jumped from a second-story window and attacked a woman walking down the street, gnawing on her head.
State police say it happened in Hawley on Friday. They say 20-year-old Richard Cimino Jr. broke into the home and jumped out the window, severely injuring himself. After he hit the ground, police say he approached two women, attacking one while "screaming like an animal."
The Times-Tribune of Scranton reports the women escaped and called police. Police say Cimino was found lying in the road, covered in blood. They say he was acting delusional and was subdued with a stun gun.
Cimino has been charged with aggravated assault and other counts. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
