Franklinville, NY - In an effort to bring awareness of bullying to the students at Franklinville High School, the administration invited folks from Rachel's Challenge share their story.
Rachel was the first student murdered at Columbine High School back in 1999.
She left behind journals in which she shared her idea that if a person showed compassion for another, it would start a chain reaction.
Some of the students from Franklinville started a Rachel's Challenge club after that visit. They came up with the idea to bring kids together and help the community at the same time.
They decided to paint the house of someone who needed and deserved help in their community, expanding on a lession in compassion to be heroes in their community.
