PITTSBURGH, PA - Amherst native Dylan Blujus was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft.

The defenseman was chosen with the 40th overall pick in the draft.  Blujus stands at 6'3" and weighs 193 pounds.  He's played for the last two seasons with Brampton in the OHL.  Last year he finished with seven goals and 27 assists in 66 games.

"Honestly it feels good to be drafted out of Buffalo," Blujus told 2 on your side's Ben Hayes.  "I just know that now being drafted out of Buffalo, maybe we'll get a little bit more respect because I know there are a ton of great players around there."

Blujus was ranked as the 71st North American Skater by Central Scouting going into the draft.  He's also played for Canisius High School and the Buffalo Regals.
