Explosion Reveals Meth Lab in Allegany County

ANDOVER, N.Y. - An explosion and fire in a trailer led to the arrest of four people for the Manufacture of Methamphetamine.

New York State Police say they investigated a report of an explosion and fire to a trailer in the town of Andover. Upon arrival they found extensive damage to the east side of the trailer.

Three people were arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacture and Possession of Methamphetamine. Steven M. Weiss, 22, Elizabeth K. Martin, 21, and Angie M. Matison, 34, all of Andover, were arraigned in the Town of Scio court.

A 26 year old fourth suspect is currently in Police custody at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville after suffering first and second degree burns in the fire along with smoke inhalation.

Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Andover Fire Department and Allegany County fire investigators.
