AMHERST, N.Y.-The University at Buffalo will officially introduce Danny White as its new athletic director Tuesday morning. White comes to UB from Ole Miss.
Multiple sources tell Two On Your Side's Adam Benigni White is the successor to Warde Manuel who left for Connecticut earlier this year.
White has numerous ties to Intercollegiate Athletics. His father Kevin is the athletic director at Duke. His brother Michael is the head basketball coach at Louisiana Tech and his brother Brian is a Senior Account Executive for Razorback Sports Properties.
White played basketball at Towson State for two seasons before transfering to Notre Dame. White was on the 2002 Notre Dame basketball team that played in the NCAA tournament.
White earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame in 2002 as well as an MBA and MSA from Ohio in 2004 and 2005.
White's first professionals position was at Ohio University. He was the Director of Basketball Operations then an assistant men's basketball coach. White was the Associate Athletics Director for Development from 2007-09 at Fresno State. He spent the 2006-07 season as the Assistant Athletics Director for Development at Northern Illinois University and he had two stints at Ole Miss.
White was recently passed over for the Athletic Director job at Ole Miss. That went to Ross Bjork who came over from Western Kentucky.
White is a native of New Orleans Louisiana. He is married with three children. White will be introduced at a news conference Tuesday morning at UB.
