BUFFALO, NY - Over 1,000 Western New Yorkers came out Sunday to participate in a walk that aims to make a difference.
Walk MS Buffalo has held by the National MS Society Upstate New York Chapter to raise aware for families like Daniel Novak and his wife Jill.
Jill was diagnosed with MS 12 years ago. "She can't walk with us anymore, but we walk for her, " said Novak who was walking with other members of his family.
With over 2,000 people in Erie County living with MS, the Novaks hope enough money will be raised to eventually find a cure. "It raises awareness but the important thing is that they keep researching and find a cure so that people don't become debilitated and are able to do this walk themselves," said Novak.
The Upstate New York Chapter is holding Walk MS in over 20 different communities this spring and hopes to raise $1.4 million with more than 10,000 participants.
