ROCHESTER, NY - Rep. Louise Slaughter is reportedly recovering at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after recently breaking her leg.
Her office issued a statement Saturday about the injury and her recovery.
It read, in part: "As you are already aware, I took a spill while in New York City and broke my left leg. I am well on the road to recovery and have begun undergoing rehabilitation so that I can continue fighting for the hard-working families of western New York."
The statement from Slaughter's office also quoted a doctor at University of Rochester Medical Center, who said he expect the Congresswoman to make "an excellent and functional recovery." He also says she is undergoing rehabilitation therapy at Strong Memorial and that there is an excellent chance she will be discharged within a week.
