BUFFALO, NY -  Buffalo Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that happened Saturday evening on Genesee and Johnson Streets.

A Buffalo police spokesperson said the accident happened around 4:30pm. That's when two motorcyclists were traveling westbound on Genesee and one of them lost control of the bike and crashed into an SUV.

Police have identified the 29-year-old motorcyclist involved in the accident as Shafid Quintero of Buffalo.

Quintero was pinned under the SUV following the collision. He was declared dead at the scene.

Kenneth Owens was a close friend of Quintero's and would often ride with him. "Besides his kids and his family and you know friends, his motorcycle was the next best thing for him. It was the next best to him," said Owens.

Accident investigators say Quintero was traveling at a very high rate of speed, possibly between 90-100mph.
