Deanna is a lifelong resident of Niagara County and graduated from Niagara University with a BS in Commerce in 1986.
She and her husband Robert live in Lewiston with their 2 children, Alex & Julia.
In July 2007, Deanna was named President & CEO for the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce. She feels this is an excellent opportunity to continue her commitment to helping small businesses develop and prosper in the Niagara region. Deanna has been assisting small business owners for more than 15 years and brings a fresh, new approach to carrying out the Chambers' mission.
She began her career by managing the family owned business known as the Quote & Quill Inc., a specialty gift shop located in Lewiston. This was a tremendous experience working side by side with her parents and brother and stirred her entrepreneurial spirit.
Deanna joined the NCCC Small Business Development Center in 1988 as a marketing specialist and began counseling small businesses in and around Niagara County. She continued to work at the Quote & Quill on a part time basis.
In 1990, her parents decided to sell the business and offered Deanna the opportunity to purchase it. She owned and operated the business successfully for the next 4 years. During this time, she not only grew to appreciate and admire the hard work and dedication of those known as entrepreneurs, but she experienced it first hand.
Deanna had the opportunity to rejoin the Niagara SBDC in 1994 and enjoyed a rewarding career by assisting small business owners in making their dreams a reality for the next 13 years. She became the Associate Director of Economic Development and International Trade in 1997 and obtained certification as a business advisor by the NYS SBDC in 1999.
Deanna is a graduate of Leadership Niagara, class of 2000. She joined the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors in 2004 and became Secretary of the Board. Deanna is also a board member for the following organizations: YWCA, NIMAC, Greater Lockport Development Corporation, Chamber Alliance of NYS, Greater Niagara Manufacturing Association, Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival and UB 2020 Opportunities Advisory Council. In 2009, she was named one of the "Women of Distinction" from the Niagara Gazette. Last July, Deanna was appointed to Governor Cuomo's WNY Regional Economic Development Council and is actively involved in the work groups.
Since 1997, she has co-owned Arbor Tree & Land Care Inc., a successful, multi-staffed arboriculture enterprise with her husband Robert. She is proud to say that the business has been growing steadily and that she & Robert have a vested interest in the business climate of Niagara County.
