SHERMAN, NY - Four people have been charged after their Amish buggy collided with a Chautauqua County Sheriff patrol vehicle.

Lt. Quattrone was responding to a house party call on Heslink Hollow Road when he spotted several Amish buggies traveling on Clymer Hill Road. The buggies were traveling in the north and southbound lanes.

One of the buggies moved into the southbound lane and collided with the passing patrol vehicle, causing the buggy to tip on it's side.

Marty Troyer, 20 years old, was operating the buggy and told the officer there was a party going on at his property.

Also in the buggy were 18 year old Marianne Troyer, who was uninjured, and 19 year old Marving Byler whose leg was trapped under the buggy. He received only minor injuries.

After speaking with the officer, it was determined that all three individuals had been drinking. Alcoholic beverages were also found in the buggy.

Leroy Troy, 20 years old, was operating a second buggy and stopped after the accident happened. He had also been drinking.

All four were charged with underage drinking. Marty was additionally charged, after admitting to hosting the party, with unlawfully dealing with a child.

They are all expected in Sherman Town Court at a later date.
