The all-time leading scorer for the Canisius College hockey program is now in the NHL.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Cory Conacher to a two-year,
two-way contract today, Vice President and General Manager Steve
Yzerman announced.
Conacher was never drafted by an NHL team following his four years at Canisius, where he scored 62 goals. He is also the school's all-time leader with 12 game-winning goals and 147 total points.
Conacher played in 57 games with the Norfolk
Admirals of the American Hockey League this season, where he has recorded 30 goals, 13 power-play goals, 26
power-play points and 64 points. He was recently
selected as a starter for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic, where he had
two goals and three points.
Conacher is a native of Burlington, Ontario.
