BUFFALO, NY - "It's a tough road; we haven't been to the playoffs in a long time and I want to be a part of it when it happens."
That's what Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson told Zac Johnson of Fox Sports Ohio Saturday.
Saturday at halftime of the University of Kentucky's basketball game vs. Vanderbilt, Johnson told reporters that "progress was made" this week when his agent met with the team earlier this week. He says he hopes they will come to an agreement sometime next week that will keep him on the Bills.
"It is my preference to stay in Buffalo."
Johnson has been the Bills top receiver for the past two seasons. If the Bills and Johnson can not agree to a new deal, he will become an unrestricted free agent on March 13th.
"I want to finish what we started. Hopefully things come together and we connect on this contract...I want a long-term contract and want to know that I'm going to be around."
