BUFFALO, NY - The company that operates the City of Buffalo's water system says more than 10,000 customers had their bills delayed this month due to a problem with bill printing software.
Timothy Cupo, the Project Manager for Veolia Water, says the problem only affects people who get "flat" bills, meaning they have no water meter.
Customers would normally have their bills arrive by February 15th, but because of the problem most are arriving this week.
As a result, Veolia has extended the grace period for payment of the bill.
Normally, the grace period is 30 days after the billing date.
Due to the error, they are extending the grace period to 30 days from the mailed date.
