BUFFALO, NY-- MSG and Time Warner Cable Monday finalized the agreement they reached on Friday to end the dispute that kept the Sabres, the New York Knicks and other teams off the cable company's air.
2 On Your Side has received many requests from DISH-TV customers wondering where the deal stands between MSG and DISH. DISH customers have been without the Sabres games for more than a year.
So, we asked both companies where the negotiations stand.
DISH TV spokesperson Aaron Johnson emailed us this statement: "DISH still does not carry the MSG channel - as you are aware. The reason is because MSG insists that DISH pay outrageous rates to carry their programming."
An MSG spokesperson sent us an email asking us to ask DISH: "why they made a decision to get out of NY area local sports business - they dropped MSG, never carried YES (Yankees and Nets) and dropped SNY (Mets)".
