BUFFALO, NY - BlueCross BlueShield of WNY kicked off a series of events this Sunday with a snowman making contest at Martin Luther King Jr. Park... only there was no snow!
"In true Buffalo fashion, we decided that we would soldier on and we build snowmen without snow!" said Maggie Kuffner, who works with BlueCross BlueShield.
Instead of snow, craft tables were filled with styrofoam balls, molding clay and everything else needed to build a snowman. Sidewalk chalk was also available for kids to play with.
The snowman contest was the first of four events being held in the upcoming weekends. Kuffner says the events are designed to inspire people to get up, get out of the house and do something with friends and family during the winter months.
