Hamburg, NY - As family and friends of 14-year old Angela Keim continue to mourn her death, a vigil that was scheduled for Friday night has been called off according to her father, George Kuntz.
The young teen from Hamburg was killed in an single car accident last weekend, which also left another teen in critical condition.
Angela's father says the vigil was canceled because of what he called several disgusting messages about his daughter posted on her Facebook page.
Kuntz told 2 On Your Side the Erie County Sheriff's Office also urged the family not hold the vigil at the site of the accident, because it was simply not safe enough to hold one on Versailles Plank Road.
Angela, who was sitting in the backseat was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while another teen in the same car was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Angela's father George Kuntz said he planned to put up memorial cross at the site of the accident Friday night. There is another vigil scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Delaware Park in Buffalo.
Angela's uncle Tim Kuntz said it will not only honor both victims, but also shows the tremendous support for the family despite all the negative comments written about Angela.
"We feel wonderful in that she is truly loved and it makes my brother especially very happy, and her mother," said Kuntz.
We've reached out to the Erie County Sheriff's Office. They're still waiting on toxicology results to determine if the 19-year old driver was driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol.
