KENMORE, NY-- Charles Lindbergh Elementary school in Kenmore celebrated Thursday for getting an award for healthy eating.
The school won a $1,500 grant from the US Department of Agriculture as part of their HealthierUS Award.
The school celebrated the changes they made in the food choices available to students in the lunch program that won them the award.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are a big part of the lunch menu at the Lindbergh school.
Only 2 percent of schools nationwide have achieved the HealthierUS status.
