BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Super Bowl parties may cost some a little extra this year. The demand for chicken wings has grown throughout the years and the price of chicken wings more than doubled since last year, putting their cost at record highs.
In Buffalo, where this food staple was invented, some businesses have decided to keep their prices the same to satisfy loyal customers.
La Nova Pizzeria, located on Main Street in Williamsville has been proud to serve its community. Having been in business for more than three generations, La Nova has spread nationwide and services food distributors around the country.
Michael Dentico, Executive Vice President at La Nova believes that this is the time of the year when the chicken wing industry is booming. "There will be 1.25 billion chicken wings consumed during this week. At La Nova, we've decided not to raise the prices. So we're going to take that price increase and absorb it for our customers."
Unfortunately for some supermarkets and restaurants, the prices will increase for consumers within the next few months to offset the pressure of the market.
