BETHANY, NY-- One person has died following a pick-up truck and tractor trailer accident in Genesee County last month.
The accident happened January 20, 2012 on Route 63 and Fargo Road in the Town of Bethany.
Deputies say the pick-up truck driven by Gene L. Kelsey, 70, was southbound on Fargo when he failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the tractor trailer head-on.
Kelsey was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. He died Tuesday as a result of his injuries.
His passenger, Michael Snyder, was taken to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Police say the men were not wearing their seatbelts.
The driver of the tractor trailer, George Volwerk, 51, was not hurt.
Investigators are also looking into whether or not alcohol played a role in the accident. Charges are pending.
