North Tonawanda, NY - Fans of a pizza business in North Tonawanda will probably be glad to see this. Pizza Junction is set to reopen once again. New buyers from North Carolina stepped in, and purchased the restaurant that's been a part of the community for 40 years.

One of the new owners, Shawn Mitchell grew up just one block away from the pizza restaurant, and ate there often before moving down South.

The restaurant located on Erie Avenue officially closed its doors on New Year's Day, and faced an uncertain future after a buyer decided to back out of the deal at the last minute.

General manager Ryan Fleckenstein told 2 OnYour Side, since then more than 20 people called about taking over. He said it wasn't until Mitchell and his business partner called looking to buy the restaurant's recipes, which led them to make an offer for everything.

Flenckenstein tells us selling the restaurant to someone who often ate there means a lot to him.

"It shows you how, how fond of Pizza Junction people really are. Not just your standard day to day customer, but your customer who has moved from the area and hasn't had your food in approximately 20 to 30 years, now all of a sudden they want to come back and they want to take over the business. It means a lot to me," said Fleckenstein.

Although the restaurant closed, the kitchen remained open. Customers were still able to place orders for pizza online during the week, and have it delivered the following Tuesday.

Pizza Junction is set to reopen in about a month and a half from now.
