BUFFALO, NY - A cold front crossed WNY in the predawn hours Friday morning dropping temperatures from the 40s into the 20s.
The lake snow band is shifting south now, where it will remain until Saturday afternoon and evening.
Lake effect snow will become more intense later in the day on Friday and will add to accumulations during the evening for areas in Southern Erie, Wyoming and Genesee counties. The lake snow will shift further south into S. Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, McKean & Potter counties overnight into Saturday.
A Lake Snow Warning is in effect for Southern Erie and Wyoming Counties until 1 p.m. Saturday. The same warning is in effect for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties until 6 p.m. Saturday.
Cold air will remain on Saturday & Sunday as highs stay near 20F with lake effect snow shifting to S. Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus & McKean counties producing additional accumulations over the weekend.
