DAYTON, NY--  A postal worker who witnesses say intentionally ran over a dog, is now facing charges.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies say Minnie Hanson is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal mischief.

The incident happened last Friday on Route 62 in Dayton.

The dog that was struck, Zeus, had surgery and is now recovering.

The US Postal Service has placed the carrier on unpaid suspension and said they would pay for Zeus' vet bills.
