There were many positive trends in the Bills win over the Redskins Sunday in Toronto. They added up to a 23-0 win.
Here are some of the numbers:
*6 - With two touchdown receptions, tight end Scott Chandler now has six TD receptions for the season. That ties him with Pete Metzelaars and Jay Riemersma as Bills tight ends with six TD receptions in a season - a franchise record.
*9 - The Bills recorded nine sacks in the game. Up until Sunday they had only four all season. Chan Gailey said pass rush was a priority this week. His players delivered against an injury riddled Washington offense.
*3500 - With 120-yards rushing against Washington, Fred Jackson has surpassed 3500-yards for his career. He now has 3581.
1 - It's the first time that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has been shutout in his career as a head coach.
1 - It's the Bills first regular season win in Toronto in the current series. Prior to Sunday's game, the Bills had lost all three regular season games at Rogers Centre to the Dolphins, Jets, and Bears in the three prior seasons repsectively. Buffalo has won both preseason games. They will play a preseason and regular season game in Toronto next year - the final year of the original five-year Bills in Toronto agreement.
1 - The Bills are once again in first place in the AFC East. New England lost 25-17 at Pittsbugh on Sunday, dropping them to 5-2 along with Buffalo. The Bills beat New England earlier this season in Orchard Park and win the tiebreaker at this point as a result.
