BUFFALO, NY - The Western New York Apollo Alliance have chosen another group of low-income homes in Buffalo to be weatherized before winter comes.

Saturday, 50 homes in Buffalo's 14215 zip code took part in the Home Energy Conservation Kit Program where volunteers went through and inspected the homes.

Teams checked furnace filters, thermostats, changed lightbulbs and caulked, sealed and placed weather strips around windows and doors.

Homeowners also learned about ways to be more energy efficient and the importance of carbon monoxide detectors.
