Some people are contacting our Tipline with questions about Crawford Furniture and delays in receiving furniture which has been ordered.
2 On Your Side did speak with Crawford Furniture Regional Manager Brett Cappa who says the firm has been hit hard with the economic recession. He says some suppliers have been late in providing material and some of the stores which they supply have been late in making payments to them.
Cappa says they hope to re-open later their week their Hamburg store which was apparently closed in a dispute with the commercial landlord. He says their Jamestown factory which produces their furniture has also had to close at this point with the layoff of some 50 employees affecting production.
Cappa says they do realize that some customers are concerned about delays with orders. Cappa says they are addressing those issues and pledges to take care of all their customers. We will continue to watch to see if the situation improves.
