Sue Krieger of Buffalo called our 2 On Your Side Tipline to ask for our help in getting a replacement for one of her damaged garbage totes from the city.
Krieger says her old tote was cracked back at the end of April and she was told a replacement would be available within two or three weeks. Krieger says that time expired and no new tote was delivered. She says she called the city only to get the same suggested time frame for a replacement with no results. So she called our 2 On Your Side Tipline.
Krieger told us a new smaller temporary tote was delivered following our call to the city with the promise that a new larger tote will be delivered soon.
City spokesman Mike DeGeorge says large totes can break and they have been on back order with the Public Works Department. He says the city's 3-1-1 Hotline can only find one call from Krieger back on June 20th.
Krieger is also requesting a partial refund because she says she only placed one tote at the curb instead of her normal two totes. DeGeorge says the billing is based on volume of trash or garbage but they will look into Krieger's request.
