WEST SENECA, NY-You might say their "hearts" were in the right place at one West Seneca school that raised over $500 recently to benefit Make-a-Wish.
Back in February, students at Potter Road Elementary held a chocolate heart sale for Valentine's Day. 6th graders researched the organization and then educated every classroom about the work done by Make-a-Wish. They also wrote their own announcements and flyers to promote the sale.
When it was all over, the students proudly turned over a check totaling $501 on Tuesday to Mary Moore, community relations manager for Make-a-Wish.
