BUFFALO, NY - I've received some great email from the viewers -- that essentially keep me employed -- requesting laptop deals.
My advice has been to wait until mid-April and thankfully, that proves to be the case this morning.
Below is a roundup of what I believe to be the best laptop deals on the market. Many of these deals will sell out extremely quickly, so if you see a price that doesn't correspond to what I've listed or an item is available "in-store only," that means the deal has sold out or the online stock has been depleted.
Once in a while, the odd store gets nasty and even raises prices after I exploit their deals. I do my best to avoid stores with these business practices. All deals are brand new unless otherwise noted.
1) Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5133
• 15.6-inch LED-backlit LCD screen
• 250 GB HDD
• 2 GB RAM
• Limit 2 per customer
Drops today from $450 to $329. CLICK HERE
Decent specs for this price. I wish the computer had a webcam, but definitely a deal and expected to go the fastest.
2) HP Pavilion g6-1a30us
• 15.6-inch LED backlit LCD screen
• 320 GB HDD
• 3 GB RAM
• Limit 2 per customer
Drops from $520 to $349. CLICK HERE
Amazing specs for this price. Two simultaneous promotions contribute to the price drop. Nice webcam. HDMI port lets you share pics and video on your HDTV with ease.
3) HP G-Series G62-358NR
• 15.6-inch LED-backlit LCD screen
• 320 GB HDD
• 3 GB RAM.
Drops from $500 to $400. CLICK HERE
Almost identical specs to the HP model above. For the price difference, I'd only go for this if laptop deal #2 sells out or shifts to in-store pickup only.
4) Lenovo IdeaPad U460
• Intel Core i5-480M 2.66 GHz dual-core processor
• 14-inch 1366x768 LED-backlit LCD screen
• 4 GB RAM
• 500 GB 5400 rpm HDD
• 802.11n WiFi connectivity
• Bluetooth
• 1.3 megapixel webcam
• Fingerprint reader
Drops from $900 to $649. CLICK HERE and follow coupon instructions.
Deal ends April 21.
Power users: This is an absolutely incredible deal for a fast, fully-loaded computer. This beauty is my favorite deal of the month -- if you have the cash to spend on a powerhouse laptop.
5) Satellite C655D-S5085 (Refurbished)
• AMD V Series Processor V140
• 2 GB DDR3 RAM
• 320 GB 5400 rpm HDD
• ATI® Integrated Graphics
Recertified at $252. CLICK HERE
If you cannot afford laptop deal #1, I'd go with this. It's recertified by Toshiba, pre-built and ready to ship. Again, no webcam and refurbished item sales cannot be returned.
6. Gateway NV53A74u
• AMD Phenom™ II X2 processor
• 15.6-inch display
• 3 GB RAM
• 320 GB 5400 rpm HDD
• 1.3 megapixel webcam
Drops from $750 to $349. CLICK HERE
This is an incredible price. Amazing specs. Also a powerhouse of a portable computer at an all-time low price. I'm not crazy about the $15 shipping fee, but there's a chance you can find it in stock at a Best Buy store for pickup.
Finally, two side deals...
1) If you're looking for a printer deal to complement your new computer purchase, a $120 Samsung laser printer is $50 today. The 60 percent savings are impressive, although this printer is only black and white and the toner is expensive. It is well-reviewed. CLICK HERE
2) If you're looking solely for portable entertainment sans computer productivity, there is an outstanding deal on a brand new LG 7-inch portable DVD and mobile DTV player. It has dropped from $250 to $76.75 -- brand new! I expect this deal to be gone by mid-morning at the latest. I would never in my right mind pay that full price for a portable DVD player these days, but at this sale price, it is something to consider.
If you're looking for something primarily with DTV reception, this might be useless to you based on where you live (take a look at all the negative reviews from folks who ordered from Amazon hoping to make that a reality). For a DVD player though, it performs well and is ultra-portable. CLICK HERE
