BUFFALO, NY - Everyone who attended Lady Gaga's concert Friday night at HSBC arena was urged to contact Senator Mark Grisanti to address the New York State Marriage bill.
Lady Gaga gave out Sen. Grisanti's government e-mail address and encouraged concert-goers to send e-mails asking him for help to pass the bill. She also posted his e-mail address to her Facebook.
2 On Your Side contacted Sen. Grisanti's office on the mention. Doug Curella, Grisanti's Chief of Staff and Spokesperson said they don't know how many emails they have gotten yet.
"Currently, we can only access Government emails from a Government issued computer, due to security reasons. We are uncertain on the amount of emails that may have been sent over the weekend but will certainly follow up with WGRZ on Monday."
The statement also went on to say:
"Lady Gaga is a terrific world renowned performer, entitled to her opinion. That is why our country is so great because you have the opportunity to have your voice be heard, and reach out to your local representatives. But Senator Grisanti has already reached out to the local chapter of Outspoken for Equality, and is meeting with them next week. Additionally, I have personally met with the Outspoken for Equality in Albany, and we had a very informative and constructive conversation. We look forward to learning more about their issues and concerns with regards to Same-Sex Marriage."
