Rosa's Furniture Extended Warranty Concerns

DEPEW, NY - With Rosa's Furniture Store filing for bankruptcy, many of you may be wondering if the extended warranties on items purchased at the store will still be honored. 

2 On Your Side received an e-mail from one of our viewers, David Braun of Depew, asking that very question.

Braun says for the last two weeks, the company gave him one number after the other to call but no answers to his questions about the warranty he purchased.

Last May, Braun purchased a 55-inch TV, a stand for the TV and a smaller 40-inch flat screen television. He says he's been very happy with his purchases, even paid over $300 for a five-year extended warranty on the larger television to make sure if anything were to happen to it, the TV will be fixed promptly.

Braun says he became very concerned that no one at Rosa's could point him in the right direction on who will honor the warranty after they shut down their doors for good. 

"This warranty that I bought was supposed to be for in-house fixing and not to take to the store," says Braun. That's supposed to be for five-years. I paid $369 for it. So I want to make sure that I have piece of mind knowing that somebody is going to take care of this for me."

2-On-Your-Side Reporter Patrick Moussignac stopped by the corporate office of Rosa's Furniture on Union Road and was told by a manager that all extended warranties are sold through a third party company, and only those companies, not Rosa's, are responsible for them.

That means if you need service the company you will be calling is still in business and can honor the warranty.
