West Seneca Town Supervisor to get pay raise

West Seneca Supervisor Gets Pay Raise

WEST SENECA, NY-- Members of the West Seneca Town Board voted in favor of a $9,400 dollar pay hike for the town's supervisor Sheila Meegan Monday.

Meegan will be getting a new salary of $72,500 as opposed to $80,000 as she had proposed to the board -- which would have equaled a 30% pay raise.

Her salary was at $63,000 a year.

Some residents argued against the proposed pay raise during a town board meeting last week.  Meegan said she deserves the raise because of the hours she works, and the supervisor position hasn't had a raise since 2005.

At the meeting Monday, residents and town officials suggested having a salary review board for future proposed elected official pay hikes.
