BUFFALO, NY-- Wegmans' fans rejoice! The grocery chain is jumping into the grocery delivery service.
Wegmans announced Tuesday that they will expand their same-day grocery delivery service to Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse in August.
“We know our customers are busy, and that any found time in their week can make a difference. That’s where we can help – by giving them the option to have Wegmans delivered fresh to their door,” said Heather Pawlowski, vice president of e-commerce for Wegmans in a released statement. “We’re excited to be working with a partner like Instacart that’s enthusiastically expanding into new markets so we can bring same-day delivery to more customers, especially those in our hometown, Buffalo, and Syracuse, who have been shopping with us for generations.”
Shoppers will be able to do their shopping online using 'Instacart', and have their orders delivered to their home in about an hour.
Among the items you can shop for: produce, meat, seafood, and frozen foods, as well as specialty cheeses, bakery desserts and pre-prepared foods.
You can order online using the instacart.wegmans.com, or download the Instacart app. You can also add your Wegmans Shoppers Club card for available discounts. You can order up to seven days in advance.
The service starts in the Buffalo-area stores August 1, Rochester stores August 8 and in Syracuse, August 15.
There is a delivery fee from Instacart for the service. It starts at $5.99 on orders over $35. You can also purchase an express membership, which gives you unlimited free, one-hour deliveries on orders over $35. The annual fees varies based on location from $99-$149.
