Greatbatch Medical plant to close

CLARENCE, NY-- Workers at the Greatbatch Medical Plant in Clarence found out that their plant is closing.

Integer Holdings Corp., which owns the facility on Barton Road, says the work being done at the Clarence plant is being moved to a facility in Minnesota.

“Decisions like these do not come easily, especially when they involve our associates,” said Thomas Hook,
president and chief executive officer, Integer in a press release. “After considerable study, we determined that shifting production to sites with capacity for growth will optimize our existing operating infrastructure, and best serve our customers for the long term.”

One hundred twenty employees are affected.  The corporate office on Wehrle Dr. and another facility in Alden remain open.

According to Integer's website, the Greatbatch Medical plant manufactures "medical devices and components for Cardiac Rhythm Management, Neuromodulation, Vascular and Orthopedics."
