West Seneca West wins the New York State Class A football championship.

SYRACUSE, NY — West Seneca West won the New York State Class A football championship Friday afternoon with a 14-6 win over Yorktown at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

Quarterback Matt Myers led the way with 284 of West's 289 yards of total offense. Myers completed 22 of 38 passes for 202 yards. He ran 15 times for 82 yards and a touchdown.

The Indians defense allowed Yorktown's touchdown on the first drive of the ball game but the West defense slammed the door the rest of the way.

West Seneca West completes a perfect season with a 13-0 record. The Indians are the first Section VI team to win a State Championship since South Park won the Class A crown in 2015.
