BUFFALO, NY - WGRZ would like to give a big thank you to everyone who participated in Food 2 Families this year. With your help, we were able to fill five truckloads of food for local families struggling to put food on the table.
This year, WNY donated over $160,000 and approximately 125,813 pounds of food.
"We are incredibly grateful to all the businesses and individuals who donated to Food 2 Families, as well as to our friends at Tops Friendly Markets, WGRZ-TV Ch. 2, and Townsquare Media for continuing to support this wonderful event," said Marylou Borowiak, President & CEO of the Food Bank of WNY. "The generosity of the Western New York community allows us to continue assisting the 41,348 families who rely on our support during the holidays and throughout the year."
The Food Bank of Western New York provides food and services to 326 member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and group homes in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties.
A total of 116,691 individuals, including 43,875 children, are served through Food Bank of WNY member agencies each and every month. On average, 41,348 families rely on Food Bank services each month.
