Driver admits to crash that damaged two homes

23-year-old Elijah Turley faces 7 years in prison for a crash that injured a passenger and damaged two homes.

The District Attorney's Office says Elijah Turley, 23, of Buffalo was driving almost three times the speed limit when he crashed into two homes on Kenmore Avenue.

Turley pleaded guilty to Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree on Friday.

On September 29, 2017, Amherst Police were dispatched to a possible vehicle racing on Niagara Falls Boulevard. When officers attempted to stop Turley's pickup truck, police say he refused and took off westbound on Kenmore Avenue at a rate of 95 miles per hour. The speed limit is 35 miles per hour.

Turley eventually lost control of his vehicle and hit two homes on Kenmore Avenue, causing significant damage. The woman riding with Turley was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

Turley faces a maximum of seven years in prison. He will be sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns on March 27 at 9:30 a.m.
