BUFFALO, NY — A teen father accused of shaking and throwing his baby has been indicted on criminal charges.
Ziaire Davis, 17 of Buffalo, was arraigned on Thursday on an indictment charging him with two counts of first-degree assault, one count of second-degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the indictment, Davis is accused of shaking his 2-month-old daughter and on another occasion, throwing the baby onto a bed and into the adjacent wall. The child was taken to Women and Children’s Hospital to be treated on Oct. 7.
Davis pleaded not guilty and bail was set at $75,000.
If convicted of all the charges, Davis faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
