AMHERST, NY - An Amherst man is facing jail time after pleading guilty to arson Wednesday.

Investigators say Brandon Adler, 27, of Amherst, lit his couch on fire, starting a blaze that caused extensive damage to his entire apartment building at 486 Franklin Street last July.

No injuries were reported, however two people had to be rescued from a second-story window by Buffalo Fire.

All of the building's residents were displaced due to the damage.

Now, after pleading guilty to fourth degree arson, Adler is scheduled to be sentenced on May 21.
