This is the Happiest Country on Earth

Happiness is trending today and so is something called a "neatball." Both have Nordic roots but probably only one will give you nightmares.

IKEA is known for its meatballs but now they're talking about re-imagining their signature dish to be less wasteful. So, they've gone into a lab (seriously) to work on something new. They are apparently experimenting with swapping out the meat for veggies and, wait or it, mealworms.

They want to call them Neatballs.

Neat. Balls.

Neat.

If you've had mealworms, please advise.

Trying to make worm meatballs neat is the kind of thing you do when you don't have any other cares in the world and considering IKEA is a Swedish company, that's probably pretty close to the truth. A new report lists Sweden as one of the happiest countries in the world--ranking ninth.

If you really want to be happy, though, move to Finland. Ahead of something called World Happiness Day on March 20th, the UN released a "World Happiness Report." It ranked countries around the world on things like income, life expectancy, freedom and generosity. They also, for the first time for this report, surveyed immigrants on their satisfaction with their new homes.

Finland came out on top. Canada came in at #7. The U.S. slipped four spots this year to #18.

They cited things like obesity, depression and the Opiod epidemic as factors in the decline of American happiness.

Finland, as it turns out, is a little weird so, naturally, I like it already. Here are the highlights:

It boasts the Wife-Carrying World Championships and each year on October 13th they celebrate an annual "Day of Failure." It celebrates bad news and bad luck as a way of learning for the future.

If you want to learn more about Finland and find your inner Finn with a Finnish Name Generator Check out the Visit Finland website. My Finnish name, by the way is Lumi Ranta which means Snow Coast.
