Unique Eats at Melting Point

BUFFALO, N.Y. - "Everyone likes grilled cheese"- it's the simple thought behind a new Allentown eatery devoted to putting new spins on the delicious toasted sandwiches.

Mike Kifner and Matt Yuhnke opened up Melting Point on Allen Street in March and have gotten a huge response in their tiny location- drawn in by the smells and tastes of their unique creations.

Eaters might be surprised to find the wide variety of selections available on the menu- from the more traditional (you can get six plain grilled cheese sandwiches for $9.99) to the more unique (the "dessert" offering mixes ricotta, bananas, nutella and candied bacon on cinnamon swirl bread). Other offerings mix cheese with apples, onion and honey, or tomato, balsamic and pesto, or even beets and arugula on pumpernickel.

On the side, Melting Point offers delicious tomato basil soup (great for dipping) and gigantic pickles from a company in Brooklyn that made big fans of Melting Point's owners.
