Sister Mary Johnice talks about St. Teresa

BUFFALO, NY - A Buffalo nun who has made it her life's work to give the city's poor hope, is back from a trip where she saw her inspiration made a saint.

Sister Mary Johnice from the Response to Love Center on the East Side was at the Vatican to see Mother Teresa named Saint Teresa of Calcutta. It was an emotional experience for her, because The Response to Love Center was actually inspired by Saint Teresa.
Sister Johnice shared a story with us about a meeting she had in the 1980's with then Mother Teresa at a time when she was looking for a new ministry.
"So I asked Mother, would I be able to come to Calcutta and work with the sisters. And she told me no. Go back to my own place and find Calcutta. I says Mother, I never worked with the poor. How do I do it? She goes, you look into the eyes of every person you meet and find Jesus. And that's how Response to Love Center was born," said Sister Johnice.
