we all know grandparents love to spoil their grandkids ... with little presents or extra dessert.
but new research reveals many grandparents are doing much more than that!
a university of chicago study finds that between 1998 and 2008, 70-percent of grandparents took care of their grandchildren for at least 50 hours a year.
while some just babysat occasionally, others provided day care on a daily basis.
and grandma and grandpas aren't just providing physical care ... but financial as well.
another study shows 62-percent provided monetary support to their grandchildren over the past five years ... mostly for investments and education.
