We all know about the cardiovascular benefits of chocolate ... but now a new study finds the sweet stuff can help prevent stroke in men!

Swedish researchers found men who consumed the most chocolate per day -- had a 17-percent lower risk of stroke than men who ate no chocolate at all.

This protection is mostly likely because of the flavonoids in chocolate -- that may decrease bad cholesterol as well as blood pressure.

and although dark chocolate has been associated with heart benefits ... the men in this study consumed milk chocolate.
