Buffalo Twins Born on Separate Days 12 Hours Apart

BUFFALO, NY- Twin babies being born on separate days separated by a couple of minutes is fairly common, but the age gap for one pair of Buffalo twins born on separate days is more than just a few minutes.

Around 7:30 p.m. Monday night Tammy Muldowney and her husband Bryan welcomed their daughter, 5-pound Kennedy Muldowney at Women and Children's Hospital.

There was plenty of time for her second child to come out and share a birthday with his sister. But the little boy was way too stubborn.

"And they sent us back to our room to let everything take its course naturally, and it wasn't until 12 hours later that little Kellen decided to make his arrival. So we had a very long rough night," Tammy said.

The doctor who delivered the twins says the different in weight between the two children may have played a role in the gap.

"I cam in at about 7 o'clock again at that time she was exhausted from being up all night and we actually used a vacuum, suction cup to deliver the second twin. I think it also took longer b/c that baby was two pounds bigger than the first one," Dr. Gil Farkash said.

Both of the children and their mother are healthy and doing well.
