Flash Flood Watches extended through Thursday morning

Winds will slowly weaken Wednesday night into Thursday however, excessive ice in the Niagara River leaves concern for ice jam flooding overnight.

High Wind Warnings have been allowed to expire early across Western New York. There will still be gusts to 40 mph early Wednesday night.

A Flash Flood Watch has been extended until 5 a.m. for northern Erie and Niagara Counties, specifically for communities along the Niagara River. A buildup of ice in the river due to the strong winds may lead to ice jam flooding Wednesday night.

Thursday looks to be a much quieter day, but it will still be quite cold with highs in the mid 30s.
