Black ice possible in parts of WNY Monday morning

The National Weather Service is warning drivers of black ice Monday morning.

The National Weather Service released a Special Weather Statement to warn drivers of patchy black ice in parts of Western New York Monday morning.

The statement says temperatures will drop below freezing around daybreak Monday morning, which could bring black ice to roads, sidewalks and parking lots.

The affected counties are: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Niagara, Northern Erie, Orleans, Southern Erie and Wyoming.

The statement expires at 8:30 a.m.
