ORCHARD PARK- The Buffalo Bills are in the hunt for a Wild Card, but with five games left to go, there is little room for error.

Standing in their way this week are the 9-2 Oakland Raiders, and one of the league's best defenders- Khalil Mack.

A 3-star linebacker coming out of high school in Florida, Mack attended the University at Buffalo.

After red-shirting his freshman year, Mack became one of the most prolific players in UB history.

Then in 2014, the Raiders drafted him with the 5th overall pick. And the rest is history...

"He’s a dog," said Bills running back LeSean McCoy. "I’m surprised he went to Buffalo. I thought he’d be at USC or Alabama. He’s a hell of a player. It’s as simple as that."

"Definitely a game wrecker," added Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. "He’s been playing at a high level since he stepped into the league."

"Knowing where I come from. The story that i have. You work and you work, you grind, and when you hear [compliments] like that it's just cool to hear," admitted Mack.

"He’s really an unusual guy," explained Bills head coach Rex Ryan. "Some guys are speed guys, but some don’t play with power. Some guys are just power guys, but this guy can do it all. He can truck you, he can run around you, he’s got moves, he’s creative with his pass rush. Him and the Von Miller guy, I think, are the best in the league right now."

"So yeah, it’s pretty much a nightmare."

Mack is the reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Week, after what he did to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

6 tackles, a forced fumble and a pick-6.

Last year, Mack became the first player in NFL history to be named All-Pro at two different positions (defensive end and linebacker).

This season, he's a legit contender for Defensive Player of the Year.

Just to think, Mack would still be in Buffalo had the Bills picked him instead of Sammy Watkins.

Makes you think, though.
