Sabres Lose Winter Classic in OT 3-2

QUEENS, N.Y. - The Sabres take on the Rangers in the 10 year anniversary of the Winter Classic at Citi Field this afternoon.

Overtime:

NY Rangers 3 Buffalo 2

J.T. Miller scores on the power play to give the Rangers the win.

3rd period:

Ristolainen scores to tie it at 2.

Second period:

Sabres get on the board early thanks to Sam Reinhart who scores 56 seconds in. That's his first goal in 17 games. Sabres cut the Rangers lead in half. New York up 2-1 after the second period.

Very fitting that the Goo Goo Dolls played during the first intermission.

1st period:

Sabres will start the second period on the power play with 1:38 left in the Ranger penalty.

Rangers strike again thanks to Michael Grabner. He scored off of a rebound from Kevin Hayes to make it 2-0 with 11:40 left in the period.

Less than five minutes into the game, the Rangers get on the board first. Paul Carey gives New York a 1-0 lead with 15:51 left in the first period.
